The perfect chromatography seal should be prefitted to the cap, safe for the autosampler needle, preserve the sample integrity over long time periods and need the minimum operator intervention – Chromacol’s new wide neck screw caps with bonded seals meet all these requirements.
These new caps have the silicone/PTFE seal bonded to the cap using a unique reagent free process that gives no contamination of the seal. This bonding to the cap means that the seals are permanently fixed into the caps and cannot be displaced into the vial by the autosampler needle.
Solid seals and pre-cut seals are available to meet different autosampler requirements and in both cases the seals never require contact with the operator for re-insertion or fitting, eliminating another possible source of contamination.
Chromacol’s 9-SC bonded caps are designed to fit the Chromacol range of 9mm wide neck vials and this includes standard 2mL vials, high recovery vials and the MICRO+™ range.
All the bonded seals retain their PTFE barrier layer and even after repeated injections the inert characteristics and the contaminant free bonding process ensure no contamination of the sample even when used with highly sensitive selective detectors and mass spectrometry.
The integration of high throughput sample preparation equipment with semi-preparative capabilities has led to a number of instruments with larger volume processing. These require collection tubes capable of dealing with larger liquid volumes than that normally associated with either auto sampler vials or sample processing vials. Chromacol now have products that are capable of dealing with the demands of equipment from companies such as CTC Analytics and Gilson.
• The tubes are manufactured from neutral borosilicate glass giving reproducible recovery from compounds whether acidic or basic.
• The base is precision formed to give a stable and secure position in the chosen racks.
• The wall thickness is such as to give the robustness required for routine use and collection.
• The 33 expansion versions are re-usable and may be used in a range of drying, heating and evaporation instruments.

There are now six MICRO+™ vials. Four vials have 300µL glass inserts fused into the standard 12 x 32mm outer vial and two have 900µL fused glass inserts. Having the inserts fused in place means that they are much easier to use than the traditional separate components. |

The 4-SVQ is similar to the traditional 4mL screw top vial but has the same 9mm thread as the 2mL wide neck screw top vials. This means that considerable savings may be made by stocking only one type of cap in the laboratory. |

Instrument Select is a range of vials caps and seals packed in chromatographically clean cases and selected specifically to match the needs of particular instruments. These competitively priced products use the instrument initials as the reference codes to simplify the ordering process and are conveniently packed so that each pack contains 1000 caps and 1000 vials. |

The WebSeal™ range of micro titer plate products has been developed and expanded to include closures for 384 plates with round and square wells together with a new mat designed to be compatible with DMSO. |

These vials, for water sampling, are available in 20mL and 40mL capacities and are available in both clear glass and amber. Caps and PTFE lined septa are included. |

Magnetic caps, are usually made from a hard material needed for its magnetic characteristics, and this makes them very hard to seal and almost impossible to de-cap for sample recovery. Chromacol’s new composite caps with an aluminium skirt to the cap are easier to seal and give better results. |

Pending The Chromacol 9-SC range of screw caps has been extended to include a much wider range of seals to suit particular autosamplers and a wider range of solvents. This means that our 2mL and 4mL vials can use the same 9mm screw caps. |

2-RV and 2-RV(A) are wide neck snap cap vials. These new vials have a SNAP-CAP, easy seal system, which eliminates the need for any crimping tools and allows easy sample recovery without the use of a de-capper. |
