LEC are continually striving to widen their range of Domestic, Medical and Technical products and is today, the UK's largest specialist manufacturer of refrigeration products.
LABORATORY
Our laboratory refrigerators and freezers offer safe, reliable storage of volatile liquids, reagents, chemicals, poisons and samples. They have spark free interiors to reduce the risk of internal explosions; CFC and HCFC free refrigeration systems ensuring minimal risk to the environment and locks to prevent theft or unauthorised access.

Temperature Control
Our laboratory cabinets offer the following internal air temperature storage options:
Laboratory refrigerators - between 0°C and +10°C.
Laboratory freezers - below -18°C
Laboratory refrigerator freezers - (ISR25 -6°C) (ISR55 -12°C) (IST45 -18°C)
Spark Free
Spark free interiors offer safe storage by reducing the risk of internal explosions.
Environmentally Friendly
Our laboratory cabinets have CFC and HCFC free refrigeration systems and insulation that have minimal impact on the environment.
Security
All cabinets have lockable doors to prevent theft or unauthorised access.
PHARMACY
Modern pharmaceuticals need to be stored at exact temperatures. Our pharmacy refrigerators have been designed to maintain an internal air temperature between +2°C and +8°C with an audio/visual alarm system that activates upon higher or lower temperatures. They are fully lockable to prevent unauthorised access and to ensure that all medication remains secure.
Are you storing your vaccines correctly?
Recent research has shown an alarming level of use of domestic refrigerators to store vaccines. Did you know that not only can this damage the effectiveness of the vaccines it also poses a security risk for medicines that should be locked away?

Temperature Control
Our pharmacy refrigerators maintain an internal air temperature between +2°C and +8°C. A digital temperature controller is fitted with MIN/MAX memory for continuous monitoring. These refrigerators have a clear digital display showing current temperature and an audio/visual signal on temperature deviation. Remote alarm terminals provide a mains failure alarm signal.
Cooling System
Our pharmacy refrigerators have forced-air cooling to ensure temperature stability and rapid temperature recovery after door openings.
Security
The doors of our pharmacy refrigerators are lockable to prevent theft or unauthorised access to the contents.
WARD
Our ward refrigerators offer safe, reliable storage of fresh food products and conform to the requirements of food hygiene regulations. They maintain an internal air temperature between 0oc and +5°C, have an easy to read, external digital temperature display for continuous monitoring and are fully lockable to prevent unauthorised access.
BLOOD BANK
The range of Bloodbank refrigerators are designed for use in small, medium and large blood centres, hospitals, nursing homes, laboratories and operating theatres. Our Bloodbank refrigerators offer safe, reliable, cooled blood storage using an electronic temperature controller with digital display for temperature monitoring as well as an alarm system that activates upon higher or lower temperatures. Capacities range from 36 to 528 bags.
Doors
The Bloodbank doors are highly durable as they are made using anodised aluminium in conjunction with high strength glass. For hygiene reasons the doors have chromate alloy handles encased in plastic that also means they are easy to clean. Electric heaters have been built in to prevent condensation formation and the doors are fully lockable to ensure that the blood is secure.
Drawers
The Bloodbank refrigerators have stainless steel drawers that have been designed to allow for sufficient air circulation within the cabinet. Stainless steel sliding glides and plastic wheels ensure that the drawers are easy to manoeuvre. The content of the drawers is easy to see as the fronts are made from clear plexiglass, helping to maintain temperature stability even when the door is opened. Additionally the drawers are fitted with label holders to specify drawer content and assist with stock management.
Cooling System
The cooling system is completely sealed within the lower part of the compact models and in the upper part of the larger models. The effective design of the cooling system means that efficient cooling is achieved through a fan-blown cooling evaporator coil, whilst compressor noise is minimised
Internal Lighting
A fluorescent light is fitted inside the Bloodbank refrigerators with a switch on the front panel.
Temperature Range
Our Bloodbank refrigerators have a working temperature of +4°C. This temperature can be fully adjusted by the user between 0°C and +10°C.

LOW TEMPERATURE
Medicine and biomedical research relies on the safe, cold storage of specimens, particularly in the fields of pathology for cell preservation, biological finds and blood derivatives. Our low temperature range of freezers has been developed to meet these needs. In particular our -85°C ultra low temperature freezer is designed for the storage of biological and other laboratory specimens ensuring that they are safely preserved and frozen.

Frame
The frames are fully metallic in heavy-gauge phosphate-coated steel. The frame is mounted on coasters to enable easy moving.
Doors
Made with heavy-gauge phosphate-coated steel and fitted with magnetic silicone rubber gaskets. The compact models have self-balancing hinges and all models have spring locks to ensure that the contents are kept secure.
Inner Doors
Our upright freezers are fitted with insulated anti-shock polystyrene inner doors to reduce cold air loss during openings.
Internal Chamber
Made using 18/8 AISI 304 stainless steel with rounded corners. The unique evaporator ensures maximum temperature uniformity inside the freezer.
Thermal Insulation
Efficient insulation is achieved by using multiple layers of CFC free polyurethane foam.
User Controls
The user friendly microprocessor control panel gives the user extensive control over temperature adjustment and also includes an audio visual alarm control system. The alarm system continually monitors cabinet temperature and immediately detects any rise or fall. Power failure and a special alarm for condenser obstruction are also included.
Temperature Range
Our low temperature laboratory freezer range has a model to suit every need with two temperature operating ranges. The low temperature freezer specification is -10°C to -40°C and the ultra low temperature freezer specification is -40°C to -85°C. These temperatures are fully adjustable by the user.
