Beer

The process of making beer You might already know, but as the first step of making beer, the wort is prepared by mixing the starch source (normally malted barley) with hot water. Hot water is mixed with crushed malt or malts in a mash tun. The starches are converted to sugars, and then the sweet wort is drained off the grains. The grains are washed in a process known as "sparging". The sweet wort collected from sparging is put into copper and boiled, usually for about one hour. Hops are added during boiling in order to extract bitterness, flavour and aroma from them. Hops may be added at more than one point during the boil. A brewer measures the concentration of sweet wort during the boiling process after adding Hops. This is a typical application that Atago have developed the In-line Brix-Monitor CM-780N for. 1) While measuring Brix%, the sample temperature can be displayed. 2) The “Default function” can bring back the standard position to the initial setting position.
